PERSONAL DOCUMENTS: Birth, Death, Marriage, Educational Certificates, …
If translation is from non-roman script language to English, please provide a list of the preferred English spelling of the given names and surnames. If the names are not provided, the Translators will use their own discretion in selecting the English equivalent, but cannot accept responsibility should the client disagree with their choice of English spelling.
URGENCY: Up to 8 pages A4-sized, the normal turn-round time is 5 working days.
Sometimes, Translators may require more time to complete lengthy documents and an ATL’s coordinator will advise you accordingly.
CHECKING OF TRANSLATIONS: Translations which are complex, technical or for publication should be independently checked by a second translator in accordance to ATL’s quality control procedures.
Due to this procedure, the normal turn-round time is extended to 8 working days.
Some clients may prefer to carry out the checking of translations in-house. This may add to the turn-round time. All changes MUST BE APPROVED by the translator.
If changes are done and not approved by the Translator, ATL and the translator cannot accept any responsibility should the client disagree with the terms of translation.
QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES: the Translator translates and checks the documents. The Checker (second Translator) is responsible for checking the document and liaising with the Translator.
1. The document (on disk) is given over for typesetting.
2. The typeset document is proof-read by translator.
3. Approval of layout is obtained from the client.
4. Finished document is delivered as a PDF file as required ready for printing.
